To visit the United Republic of Tanzania, you can get a Tanzanian Visa either on arrival or e-Visa which you can apply for before your arrival to Tanzania.
If you are visiting within two weeks, we recommend getting a Visa on Arrival, if you are permitted to do so.

Visa on arrival:
You can get Tanzanian visa upon arrival also. You need to fill in a form and produce your passport at the counter. Please note your passport must have a validity of at least 6 months.
The visa charges are 100 USD for US citizens and 50 USD for the rest of the world.
eVisa:
To get online visa, you will have to fill an online form, make payment and then submit the same. This form will be internally reviewed and processed. The status of the application (if it has been accepted or rejected) can be viewed through the online system. The applicants will receive notification regarding their visa status through email.
We request all our travelers who are looking to get an online visa to book through the official Tanzania Immigration website only and not through any other links.

When applying for an online visa, first you will be requested to fill in basic information like your email, passport number, passport issue country, a security question and its answer. After filling these details you will be able to start a new application. Upon starting a new application, kindly fill in the required fields with correct information.

A soft copy of passport size photo (jpeg/png format only, with size not to exceed more than 300KB)
Soft copy of passport (jpeg/png format only, with size not to exceed more than 300KB and the passports must have a validity of at least 6 months)
Supporting documents (PDF format, with size not to exceed more than 1MB)
Kindly note that visa applications take around 15 days to get processed. Please observe the time frame before filling the application.
What are the vaccination requirements to enter Tanzania?
The vaccination requirements to enter Tanzania are:
A negative COVID-19 certificate. The certificate will be considered valid only if the test is done 72 hours before your scheduled arrival to Tanzania.
Yellow fever vaccination required only if you are travelling from a region with a high risk of yellow fever or have a transit of 6 hours or more in these regions. Here is the list of countries with a high risk of yellow fever: https://www.cdc.gov/yellowfever/maps/index.html
Visa not required?
Not everyone is required to apply for a visa. Citizens of some countries do not require a visa to enter Tanzania. The list of the countries whose citizens DO NOT require a visa can be found in the link below:
